| | | Author Bio Jim Carroll I went to Vietnam when I was 19. I was there for 12 months and 21 days. For the first part of my tour I was in PBR's, the River Boats made famous by "Apocalypse Now." We provided security for freighters full of bombs. | | A few months later I was moved to Long Binh, the Army's biggest base, to work in a Tactical Operations Center. I slept about 100 yards from a Medevac landing pad. The constant, "Whomp, Whomp, Whomp," of rotor blades delivering the dead and wounded pounded into my conscious, my subconscious, my unconscious and every fiber of my being. I came home with things I wanted to say but without the story telling skills. I became a trial lawyer and told stories for a living. I hope you enjoy the Sample Chapters.
